Since 2012, the chair has been working on three long-term framework projects in which the priorities of basic and applied research are taken up independently of concrete funding projects.

• METIS (schema mapping, schema evolution, schema integration, schema management, also provenance management)
• PArADISE (assistance system support, big data analytics, data economy, privacy, performance through parallelism)
• HyDRA (digital libraries, highly networked document structures, directed hypergraph models, replication, queries and retrieval)
